By having weekly alphabetic themes, we are able to teach the foundation for all literacy learning (aka: the alphabet) in a fun and meaningful way. Did you know that rhyming skills in kindergarten is the most predictive skill for academic success in high school! Songs and stories with rhymes will also be a strong literacy focus in our classroom.

A Typical Day

Arrival: Settling in with friends & fine motor skills

Circle Time: Group sharing, stories, calendar and songs

Centers: Free choice of art, science, math, blocks, dramatic play and creative exploration

Clean-up Time: All children participate in putting the room in order

Music Time: Singing, instruments, and movement

Snack Time: We work on table manners and say a prayer before beginning

Story Time: Exploring books and learning about authors and illustrators

Outdoor Time: Weather permitting, we will go to the Gammelgarden park to enjoy nature
